Treasurer Smith Announces $1,000 College Savings Month ISave 529 Giveaway

Enter to Win is written on a chalkboard

Behind every child’s future is a village of people who encourage, inspire and invest in their dreams. This College Savings Month, State Treasurer Roby Smith is celebrating those villages with the Saving for Tomorrow, Together Giveaway, giving Iowans the chance to win a $1,000 contribution to an ISave 529 account.

“Saving for a child’s future doesn’t have to fall on one person’s shoulders,” said State Treasurer Smith. “Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends and so many others can all play a role in helping a child pursue their dreams. This giveaway celebrates those villages while encouraging Iowans to think about how they can help the children in their lives prepare for what comes next.”

Throughout September, eligible Iowans can register for a chance to win a $1,000 ISave 529 contribution towards future educational expenses.

“Whether you can save a little or a lot, starting today can make a meaningful difference down the road,” continued Smith. “Every contribution is another investment in a child and another reminder their village believes in their future.”

ISave 529 is Iowa’s direct-sold education savings plan designed to help families save for future education expenses. Funds can be used for qualified expenses at eligible colleges, universities, trade and vocational schools, apprenticeship programs and other qualifying expenses.

With flexible contribution options, ISave 529 allows families to save on their own terms while giving others the opportunity to contribute toward a child’s education.

No matter your role in a child’s village, register for the Saving for Tomorrow, Together Giveaway for your chance to win a $1,000 contribution to an ISave 529 account.
